Henry Stirling is a meek and mild, henpecked bank clerk. On his 50th birthday he decides to go to a music hall, instead of his respectable Rotary Club. Suddenly he finds himself on stage with hypnotist Mendosa and his beautiful assistant, Honey. Under Mendosa’s spell to make him a ladies man, Henry makes advances to Honey, a fight occurs, the curtain comes down with Henry still under the spell.

It leads Henry to flirt outrageously with any woman who walks past him, give away money at the bank and accidentally steal £300 from his manager’s safe - leaving the stage set for a farcical finale.
