PLAYS FOR A LAUGH

A Fund Raising Event for The Playhouse

22nd to 24th June 2017

Have a laugh and support the Playhouse!

The theatre's three drama groups, Preston Drama Club, The Broughton Players and The Grimsargh Players have come together in a unique production of three short comedies each night to raise funds for the development of the Playhouse.

The Broughton Players  present  None the Wiser

A gang of women posing as nuns are operating a successful shoplifting racket. The trouble is that at home in their convent they have to look the part, and when two nuns seeking accommodation appear at the door they can't turn them away. However, the newcomers aren't what they seem either.

Preston Drama Club  presents  And Then There Were None

Not the Agatha Christie thriller, but a comedy by R.F.Delderfield.

It's 1906 on the eve of a General Election. Sir Hector Fanshawe Scott MP is at his large suburban home about to give a speech to his constituents. Little does he know that his house is about to be invaded by an intrepid Suffragette, who will have a dramatic effect on the residents...

The Grimsargh Players  present  Bunny and Dot  and  What the Hell

  • Bunny and Dot are both sheltering from life in the Flights of Angels Home for the Elderly. When Bunny's daughter-in-law turns up and threatens to spoil it all, Bunny has a decision to make.

  • When Gavin and Angela find themselves on the receiving end of a large truck, they look forward to a nice quiet afterlife away from Angela's mother, Pam. Little do they realise that a mother's influence transcends time, space - and even death! Let the fun begin...
