About Preston Drama Club

Preston Drama Club PDC put on their first production in 1933. The play was 'Ebbtide', written and produced by Robert Lambert, and performed at Bairstow Street School, Avenham, Preston. Later that year the group moved to Grimshaw Street School, where they stayed until 1949, the year Columba Hall, today's Playhouse building, was completed as a theatre.

Preston Drama Club currently performs six productions a season which begin in September and end in June.

We also hold occasional workshops and social events, including “Members' Nights”, held in the theatre bar, during the season when the theatre is available.

New members are always welcome. Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18, and membership is currently free - the only requirements are a desire to get involved, and a willingness to help. If you would like to become a member of Preston Drama Club, please email prestondramaclub@live.co.uk
