The Curious Savage

Ethel Savage - recently left $10 million by her late husband, wants to use it to help people with "a desperate need to be foolish" to fulfil their dreams: her graspiing stepchildren want it for themselves.

They have her committed to an asylum, and the 'guests' she meets there, a delightful group of truly lovely and gentle folk, form plans to help her outwit 'the baddies', keep her inheritance and realise her dream. As battle is joined, Ethel comes to see the inmates as they see themselves, and her children for what they really are.

Set in the 1040's, this is a story of goodies v baddies, which is constantly charming, hugely comic and utterly heart warming.
